Josephine

What's it called?:
Portrait
What does it sound like?:
Beautifully sung sympathetically produced organic soul music. This album has been attracting very good reviews from many sources. This is her debut album, she's from Manchester. OK - I'm being lazy, but this BBC review says it all. http://www.bbc.co.uk/music/reviews/rxb6
What does it all *mean*?:
There are singers out there you don't know who have more talent in their little fingers than all the "remarkable artists" on X factor put together.
Goes well with …:
Headphones!
Might suit people who like …:
Real music that doesn't rely on 'beats' and recycled Ibiza synth riffs - and I suspect that means most of us!

Is terrific. Had a sneaky listen in the week, treated myself to the lovely, heavyweight LP on the way home tonight, switched on the turntable, pulled the record carefully from it's sleeve and........the glue from the inner sleeve has 'leaked' all over the LP. Or that's what it looks like. Unplayable. Knackers.

… someones "airbrushed" her face (in painstaking detail), on that album cover. But they have done it in such a way that she looks like her cheek is made from some vacuum sealed plastic material, with no bone structure. I do think with certain artists, the basic principle of "realism" is more important than some ambitious "Retoucher" showing off their pretty amateur Photoshop skills. Sorry.

An utterly splendid album.
